I had so many newborn sessions in November and I l I had so many newborn sessions in November and I love them all. They are perfect because I can get my baby fix and without the hard parts of having a newborn. I’ve been lucky enough to do all these sessions in my clients own homes. They’re sooo tiny and precious and they change so quickly almost everyday. Don’t wait to do newborn photos. I didn’t take photos of my Evelyn as a newborn and I should have. I deeply regret not hiring someone for hers. Do it even if your home is not HGTV worthy. Or messy. Or whatever excuse you are telling yourself. Figure out a way. I love photographing newborns. And I love it even I love photographing newborns. And I love it even more when it’s a family I know and love and have taken photos of for years now. Meet Baby Shiloh. He was soooooo sleepy and cute as long as he was swaddled. Haha. We did this session in their home. 5 reasons to do photos in your own home. One, your kids feel more relaxed in your own home. Two, you feel more relaxed. Three, you don’t have to pack all your kids up in the car and drive somewhere. Four, I always photograph all the older children first so they can be done and go play with their toys or watch a show. Not everyone could do the things she does. Just remember when you’re in the thick of it you are doing better than you think you are. Don’t wait for the “right” time to take photos. That will turn into next month, next year, when I accomplish this or that and before you know it, 5 years have gone by. The right time is always now because those kiddos are going to change and look entirely different next year. Despite the chaos you may all be experiencing, it’s time to think about Christmas cards and family photos. October is the perfect month while the weather is still nice to get those photos updated. If your kids in your last family photos look like miniature versions of themselves, it’s time. I am forever grateful to this mom for being prompt on filling out her questionnaires and reading the guides. We avoided miscommunications, she picked the perfect clothing, and the perfect location representing what her family values: the mountains. It made for a smooth sailing session. I give you a lot of information, but it is sooo vital to helping you have the best experience possible. I mean, look at the photos. Susie knew how important the details were going to Susie knew how important the details were going to be at her wedding. She chose real flowers, had her nails exquisitely done, and her veil was just stunning! I’m pretty sure there were at least 5 people that came up to her on the temple grounds to comment on how pretty her bouquet was. 😍 She also handled the weather like a champ! It was literally pouring rain in most of our photos and she didn’t let it get to her at all. And then the sun came out for us at the very end.
