Salt Lake Temple Wedding | Janessa + Evan

This Salt Lake Temple Wedding was a perfect winter dream. Janessa and Evan were so much fun to hang out with. They got married on one of the last days before they closed the Salt Lake Temple for a 4 year renovation.

They were referred to me by my aunt who lives in the Seattle area. She has known Evan’s family for most of his life. They had a slight problem. They live in Seattle, but getting married in the Salt Lake Temple. So they needed a photographer in the Salt Lake area. I met them for the first time when they walked out of the temple doors.

I don’t typically meet the couple for the first time as they walk through the doors, but fortunately, since we have so much awesome technology I was able to talk to Evan’s mother extensively to get all the details before the big day and it worked out perfectly!

The Wedding Day

Janessa is from the Philippines and had never seen snow before the wedding day! She was a trooper and handled it well even though it was snowing/raining/sleeting during the photos. Because it was wet, her beautiful red bouquet bled onto her adorable warm shawl she had to put over the dress! Fortunately, we just had her take it off. She did such an excellent job handling the cold.

Since it was so cold, we made our way over to the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. The building works well if you stick to the windows. It makes for a nice warm place to recoup after the rain, and I like to use it in incremental weather for a Salt Lake Temple Wedding. I took Janessa and Evan there so we could warm Janessa up for a few minutes. It was just enough for us to go outside one last time to grab the last photos.
