In-Home Newborn Session
This in-home newborn session was done in my home in Eagle Mountain. I love doing in-home sessions as they feel more natural. Most of the time I prefer to do it in the clients home to make the family and other children feel more comfortable.
In this case, Mackenzie (the mom) said she didn’t love the look of her house and wanted it done somewhere else. I always offer up my bedroom as a sort of studio for others to use if they want to. The bedroom has perfect lighting so it makes it easy to capture tiny, essential moments of those first weeks of a baby’s life.
I’ve photographed Mackenzie’s family for years so when she asked me to take photos of their newest addition to the family I of course said yes. Unfortunately, at the last minute Mackenzie’s husband, Bryan, was called into work so he wasn’t able to be there. We still got some amazing photographs of Mackenzie with her babies and some of her with her newborn little buddy. Raising three boys is no small feat.
Peyton, the oldest, is 4 almost 5 years old. He was so cute and did great smiles for me. Ethan, the second, just turned 2 a few days before these photos were taken. He was a little harder to get to hold still, but we got some cute photos after a combination of bribes including candy and grandma taking him to do fun things afterward.
What to Wear
Mackenzie and her family wore the perfect outfits too. I always suggest to people to wear neutral colors and this family nailed it. Whites, light blues, tans, light greens, light pinks, etc are great colors to wear. Always keep in mind that we want to have less distraction and more focus on what you are doing. Bright colors or patterns distract rather that help a photo.
