California Family Photography | PIE Family

This California Family Photography session was extra special for many reasons. First of all, let me explain what in the world PIE means. Jimmy is my brother-in-law and is divorced. He has 3 amazing, beautiful and wonderful girls named Paris, Ivy and Eden. There you go. PIE. It’s the perfect acronym for this cute family.

We took these photos at Big Bear Lake in California while we were on a family vacation for a reunion with my husbands family. We had so much fun there. I always try to take yearly photos of Jimmy and his girls each year as they are growing up so fast!

Paris will be 17, Ivy is turning 15 and Eden will be 11 in the next couple months. I always have so much fun taking their photos and it’s not hard because they are naturally gorgeous inside and out!

It was a little different to be shooting in a location I had never been to scout out before. I usually always go and scout out a location before I shoot there. This helps me to get the best lighting and locations, within the location, for your photos to be amazing. I live in Utah and do most of my sessions there, but my husband is from California so I love to come out and do family photography sessions for them when we visit.

There was this great big long bridge that goes over the lake. It is a really cool thing to walk across, just don’t look down too far! It was a little too high for my liking. However, it did make some really great dramatic photographs with the girls. They are teenagers and wanted the dramatic, fashionista type look for some individual shots.
